The NJAWBO Morris Mentoring Program
The Morris NJAWBO Program Committee has announced the launch of its new pilot mentoring program as part of its theme “Learn, Know and Grow” for the 2010- 2011 year.
The new mentoring program will help the Morris NJAWBO chapter achieve its objectives including building relationships, sharing knowledge, experience and expertise, accelerating a learning curve and providing a forum to give back, said Brooke Manino, Chairwoman of the Morris Education Committee.
The pilot program aims to match up three to five pairs of mentors and protégéés who will work together for three months, Brooke said. The Business Mentoring team, which is part of the Program Committee, will oversee and facilitate the pilot program. This includes matching the protégéés with suitable mentors, monitoring the progress of the pilot, making improvements and then rolling out the program on a larger scale.
The protégé is the initiator of this process, Brooke said. “If you have a particular challenge within your business for which you are seeking the advice and guidance of a mentor, please submit your protégé request (Protege Application) to education@morrisnjawbo.org.
“Likewise, if you have a business expertise that you would like to share with your fellow Morris NJAWBO members, please let us know about it by completing the Mentor Application and e-mailing it to education@morrisnjawbo.org by November 15th,” Brooke said.
Once a protégé and mentor are matched, it will be up to them to confirm the details such as the frequency of their meetings etc., for this three-month pilot, leveraging the Mentor Protégé Contract, she said.
If you have any questions about the Mentoring pilot program, please e-mail the Business Mentoring team at education@morrisnjawbo.org.
