Gwen is an interior designer with more than 30 years of experience in the profession. She is the owner of Directions in Design, a full service interior design firm based in Long Valley, that specializes in both residential and commercial design.
Gwen, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She has been extremely active in ASID’s NJ Chapter, serving on its Board of Directors and, most recently, as the chapter’s Marketing Committee Chair. She is also a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO). As a woman of many talents, she also holds a New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor’s license. She and her work have been featured in many publications, including Design NJ, Elegant LifeStyles, and The Star Ledger, as well as several books, including “Best of Today’s Interior Design” (Schiffer Publishing) and “Designed in New Jersey” (DSA Publishing). She and her husband of almost 30 years have raised two daughters who are now young adults.

After more than 25 years working as an Administrative Assistant, Terri started her own business to help other small business owners and entrepreneurs. Terri has experience working for telecommunications, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and web design firms. She has also worked for various religious organizations.
Terri volunteers as Webmaster for author, Sharon E. Dumont. She is also the Newsletter Editor, Membership Committee Member, Directory Board Member, Communications Coordinator and Webmaster for The Bates Association, a genealogy society. Terri resides in Wharton, NJ with her husband, Douglas Black. She enjoys spending time with her family, crocheting, genealogy, and reading.

Karen Swartz has a financial services practice designed to help business owners and individuals plan for their future. The Chatham resident is a representative with Northeast Planning Corporation and by design establishes long term relationships with most of her clients.
Karen began on Wall Street and gained extensive market experience in sales and trading before deciding to direct her time and efforts towards helping individuals, families and small businesses navigate the ever-changing currents in today's financial waters. She helps them make informed decisions that will impact the rest of their lives.
Karen is a community-minded person, dedicated to The Kiwanis Club of the Chathams and Madison, St. Patrick Church, many youth sports organizations and The Chatham Area Chamber of Commerce. She is among the first to raise her hand to volunteer at the snack bar for the weekend football game. As a member of Morris NJAWBO, Swartz has served as a member of the corporate sponsorship committee and has brought many sponsors to our chapter.
Karen is a super networker, consistently attending events and meeting with other professionals and community figures. She is an avid golfer and bowler.
